The History of Bible Way

The Bible Way Church of What’s Happening Now was chartered November 11, 2004, after being founded July 4, 2004.  The ministry began in the summer of 2002 when, then, Brother Michael Hunter began hosting weekly dinners and bible studies in his living room.  Some friends were routine visitors for the food and went away once the bible study component became prevalent.  Those who remained were blessed and soon realized that they were in the presence of one of God’s anointed.  Before long, word of the bible study was spreading and the core group of attendees was asked by Brother Mike to pray for God’s direction in forming a formal “Church”.  After much prayer and guidance from the Lord, The Bible Way Church of What’s Happening Now was born.

The inaugural service was hosted the July 4^th weekend of 2004 along with the first annual Neighborhood Warming Party.  The block party (of sorts) was an opportunity to meet the church’s neighbors and to simply let people know that the ministry existed.  The party and the inaugural service were both big hits and the church of what’s happening now was well on its way.

Why “Bible Way” for a name?  When Pastor Mike was a teenager, the Lord placed in his spirit the importance of living life “the bible’s way”, as opposed to simply following the traditions of any particular religious denomination.

Why “What’s Happening Now” for a sub name?  During the formation of the church, the Lord quickly revealed that the ministry would be an instrumental leader for today’s youth.  The youth are always up on what’s happening and they need to know that God is their God and not simply a part of religion.  Also, tomorrow is not promised to any of us so we must take advantage of the NOW!
